Dolly

We all have fixations- right! Well so does Harper. She loves Dolly- very original I know. Hopefully we will never lose it and she can take it to college with her. I think I had my blanket until I was at least 7. Harper likes to chew on Dolly's hat, I liked to smell my blanket - who knew we were so alike . . .

NBA Playoffs

OK so it is pretty sad when you are posting about basketball, but it is a long dry summer as Team Avery has very little interest in Baseball. So, here goes. When we went to the beach BaBa got Jackson a build bear which he affectionately calls "brown bear". I was good to just get the bear, but no Ba wanted outfits - so what kind of outfit do we get - basketball of course. I really wanted a Phoenix suns jersey in honor of Steve Nash, but since we were in Florida we settled on the Heat- I kind of dig Dwayne Wade so it was alright.

Family

Easter Bunny

The Easter Bunny brought Jackson a CAT bulldozer. He loves it! Harper got a ball that giggles when you shake it. She thinks it is hilarious. Thank you Easter Bunny!

Been a long time . . .

Well- as my friend jill says, it's been a long time. I can't quite get a grip on my life so this is the best I have to offer. Kudos to those who update daily or weekly. I secretly want ot be more like you. Here are a few pics from our beach trip with BaBa- the big wheel was a last minute purchase due to the fact that the pool heater was broken. Jackson did not seem to mind. He of course learned how to put on sunscreen and surf?!?!? Sissy just loved her new sunglasses and pretty much went with the flow- I love her so!

Birthday Presents

One of Jackson's favorite presents is his Auburn football kit. Helmet, Jersey, Pants and Football! How fun- especially when he trys to tackle Sissy. Harper's gift was mommy's realization that bows are a fact of life when you are a girl in the South- and the bigger the better. I have to say I held off for an entire year - no Velcro bows!!! But, I have to admit I love her in them. Is that so bad. I don't care.

One party down

one to go. We decided to have Jackson's party away from the house at Recreation Station, or "recy stash" as Jackson calls it. It was a blast- defiantly a little crazy, but well worth the money. He had so much fun playing and when it was time for cake and ice cream Jackson decided it was also time to strip down to his diaper . . . I think I got "spring break 07 guys gone wild" on the video. Priceless!

Harper's one!!!

We had so much fun celebrating Harper! Kristin, my sister took these pictures along with 75 more of Harper and her first cake experience. Thanks Krissy! Harper was a lot like Jackson with her cake. She did not really want to get too dirty. My favorite is the one with her daddy. Their is nothing like that relationship!!!

It's been a long time . . .

Ok so I am not the best blogger in the family. We all know who that is. Mollie, please tell me how you are so good?!?!?! A lot, has happened- Birthday celebrations - three in Team Avery's immediate family and an untimely death in my extended family. All this to say- family is very important and we should all do what we can to let people know how we feel. I am going to try and be better about that, for Wes, so here goes . . . .

Luck

I feel lucky some days and others I don't feel that much.
These are my favorites right now. THe first was taken on the train at the Zoo. One of Jacksons favorite places! Thanks Ba and Bee for renewing our membership this year. The one of Harper was taken at church- it was baptism recognition Sunday. Team Avery is pretty faithful to the 8:30 service, and has you would assume we were the only family to go forward at the early service. The extra attention given was wonderful and made Harper and her proud parents feel very special. Today I feel lucky.

Sissy and me

Jackson's new thing is to get Sister involved in all of his high jinx- "SissY play with ME!" Usaully it ends up with Sissy screaming and Jackson sitting on top of her but I like to think of it as brotherly love- just to get through the day. He really is starting to include her in all sorts of thoughts and it is touching to see that he realizes he is part of a bigger community than just himself!

My big girl . . .

Harper turned one a few days ago. I don't have pictures from her party up yet but I couldn't resist these. She is pure joy - even when she is sick. What is with double ear infections when team avery turns one? Yes - we are still pulling for Duke even though they have fallen off the map (Harpe's pink homage) Miracles happen especially in March - hey Saban (is that how you spell it) came to Bama-

I really think I can do it!!!!!!

Harper wants so badly to walk like her big brother. I think she would be by now if Jackson would only let her have some space. Every time she pulls up on something that is the least bit mobile he grabs it from her. I couldn't help posting this picture because her back end looks so HUGE! I guess you could say "she's got junk in her trunk"

Cameron Crazy?!?!?

Two tickets to Cameron at face value- $90 (which were a Christmas gift along with four nights away from the kids- thanks Moo Moo!)

Gas for the nine hour trip- $150

Crossing off one of our lifelong dreams- priceless

The pictures speak for themselves-

Christmas a la Team Avery

What a wonderful day we had! We woke both kids up because we could not wait to show them everything that Santa had brought. Jackson, on first sight of his new guitar said with a sleepy voice- "I got it!" That was gift enough for me and Dan. Sissy enjoyed the wrapping paper and watching her brother delight in all of the presents. She also loved her Hokey Pokey Elmo, but who wouldn't?

Christams with the Ericksons

We sped home and went straight from Moo Moo's house to Uncle Steve and Aunt Linda's house to celebrate with my side of the family. Thanks to Brian and Mollie, Jackson now sleeps with his harmonica! We loved playing with Henry and cant wait to see them again real soon. Thanks Aunt Linda for the fun cake decorating! It occupied the kids for over 15 minutes. WE love being with all of the cousins and loved G's new calendar!?!?!?!

Christmas with Moomsie

Moo Moo's whole gang. It was great getting everyone together even for a short time. Jackson loves playing with all of his big cousins and most importantly "jacobjeremy". Harper as you can see was never once put down. The kids got so many gifts we almost hads to get a U-Haul!

i love my cousins

We had fun a few days ago with Carter and Graham. We tried to get all of them together for a picture for the parentals. This is what we got. Not bad.

Watch out boys . . .

She is too sweet. As long as Jackson does not hit her she is just fine. I love trying to get her picture lately because she attacks me. She either wants me, wants the camera, or wants to be a model. I love the last picture of Harper's beautiful eyelashes!!! I'm sure she is going to give her daddy a run for his money.

The annual picture

Ah yes! This was a good day for Team Avery. We did have fun expecting very little, and yes we got very little. Some where in the midst of the hurried shoppers and the makeup caked children around us with there mothers screaming at them to stay still so as to not mess up there dresses I found myself being totally content with this season of expectations. I hope it will last.

Wrong- a few feet past Santa Jackson proceeds to hit my face with both of his hands like he was using cymbals! That was the longest walk back to the car. Is it OK to squeeze your sons arm so tight that no one else can see that you are hurting him????
