i love my cousins

We had fun a few days ago with Carter and Graham. We tried to get all of them together for a picture for the parentals. This is what we got. Not bad.

Watch out boys . . .

She is too sweet. As long as Jackson does not hit her she is just fine. I love trying to get her picture lately because she attacks me. She either wants me, wants the camera, or wants to be a model. I love the last picture of Harper's beautiful eyelashes!!! I'm sure she is going to give her daddy a run for his money.

The annual picture

Ah yes! This was a good day for Team Avery. We did have fun expecting very little, and yes we got very little. Some where in the midst of the hurried shoppers and the makeup caked children around us with there mothers screaming at them to stay still so as to not mess up there dresses I found myself being totally content with this season of expectations. I hope it will last.

Wrong- a few feet past Santa Jackson proceeds to hit my face with both of his hands like he was using cymbals! That was the longest walk back to the car. Is it OK to squeeze your sons arm so tight that no one else can see that you are hurting him????

"I'm not scared . . .

of Ho Ho!!!" It seems this is the only way we will be able to be near Santa this season. Maybe Jackson has it all figured out. He would rather sing "Jesus songs" than go see Ho Ho. Of course, we still have to have the annual screaming picture?!?!?

Team Schmit

Thanksgiving was a blast. We went to Huntsville to visit Dan's mom and sister. We also got to meet our new cousin, Allison. She is so sweet and slept most of the time. Jackson had lots of fun with his cousins- Jacob and Jeremy. Although he could not tell them apart he had fun calling them both "jacobjeremy". The highlight for the boys was going to the firestation right down the road. We went every day and even got to get in the fire truck!!! It made such an impression that we made some pumpkin bread and gave it to our station in Vestavia on Sunday when we got back to Birmingham! Jackson learned that we are not only thankful for our family but also for our community and its leaders.

Team Dodson

Before the Auburn Alabama game Jackson, Harper and I went to visit our cousins. Jackson had so much fun chasing Joe and Kate around the house and the yard. He was very interested in Hank the dog too! Kate is going to be the best babysitter for Harper- she is so sweet and helpful. Poor Joe didn't get any rest with Jackson chasing him non stop!

War Eaaaagle!!!

It was almost a dark day in the Avery household, but thank goodness Auburn pulled it out! Jackson and Dan started out the day in the leaves. Jackson loves to "help" Daddy in the yard. I don't know if it takes Dan twice as long but he always takes him out. Check out the last picture- my son looks like he is leading a charge or a toddler version of braveheart?!?!?

Bath Time Two

We bathed Harper in the sink a couple of days ago and Jackson could not wait to get in. He had such a ball. When I got the camera out all he said was "cheeeeseee". Thank you God for cameras!!!

Friends

We went to the park last week and met our friend Henry. Jackson had more fun chasing Henry than playing. Henry was more cooperative posing with Harper than Jackson. Jackson was running past him saying"you cant get me". The next picture is lunch with Wilma! It is so fun to see them play together. I am so thankful to have him as a friend for Jackson and I cant wait to watch them grow up together. Oh, by the way the Duke shirt in the first picture- We were celebrating the first Duke basketball game of the season!!!! And yes, Daddy has one on too! I am so glad. Go blue devils, who needs Florida?

"Oh My Goodness She is sooo Big"

Harper wants to pull up on everything! I guess I am surprised because Jackson was so late crawling and walking. Well, Harper is very advanced. And yes , she is on her toes in the first picture. Like mother like daughter- no pressure sissy!

"I want to hold . . . "

SISSY!!!!! Jackson loves to wake her up and be the first one to hold her. A little rough but so sweet. What more could I ask for.

Big Boy Now?

Today I went to Walmart with Jackson to get some Big Boy Pants. He is so excited and wants to wear two at a time. Hopefully, he will not have an accident while I am posting! We tried to get a picture showing everyone how big and strong he is. I love how he is trying to run toward the camera. "Look Mommy, I am strong!" Oh, well wish us luck!

He works hard for the money . . . .

This picture was taken at the Zoo. Jackson loves tractors and trains so the Zoo is a good place for Team Avery. Jackson's uniform this summer was his Duke shirt and crocs. If you can see he is sweating just like an Avery and a Harper. At least he comes at it honestly. We stayed long enough to get real dirty and real tired. I'm sure we will be back soon.

Bath Time

I love using the sink to bathe the kids. Since Harper is now 9 months old she will soon be too big for it. So for now I am enjoying the time we have. I love the first picture. She either looks like she has had one to many cocktails or soap got in her eye. I am sure it is the latter. If you can see in the background check out the picture of Dan and his Dad! I love the Auburn car and my husband - he is soooo cute!!!! The second picture is true Harper - always happy!!!!

Bowling with Wilma

We went bowling a couple of weeks ago with our good friends The Douglasses. William, or as Jackson calls him "Wilma", is one of Jackson's best friends. They are about a month apart and have literally grown up together. He loves Wilma and his big brother John Bristle. I love to hear him say Wilma! Although, it took two hours to play one game it was great to see the kids play.

Halloweeeen!!!

I guess this will be our only Halloween picture. Jackson is supposed to be Bob the Builder, but he has yet to put the costume on. He likes his hat though. Sissy on the other hand loves her wings and is much more cooperative.

Jackson as you can see did put his costume on at the eleventh hour. He was too cute!

My Gang

This picture was taken at the Old Florida Fish House in Seagrove. We had an early dinner and then stopped at a cool wine bar down the road. It was a perfect end to a wonderful trip.

Firsts

The beach was filled with firsts- Our first trip as a family. Harper began crawling. She had her first sand experience and Jackson had his first lemon. All in all it was a great trip. Although the kids did not like the sand too much the "hot tub party" was hit!

October Daze

I wanted to get a picture from our beach trip before the time got away. We went to Seagrove at the beginning of October and stayed for a couple of fun filled days! The picture is courtesy of Aunt Linda and Uncle Steve - "wagon trip" Jackson must have said it 200 times. I still think he thinks the wagon is in our basement. Maybe Ho Ho can bring the kids one . . .

Big Boy Jack

We are starting to decide whether we will go by Jackson or Jack. I don't know why I just said "We" it really is all him. It is so interesting to see a two year olds mind work.

He is quite fun though; always wanting to help Sissy. "You want to play with me? Sissy?" The intonation kills me every time.

Sweet Harper

I love getting to know Harper. She is so full of life. I love the way she can bounce from her bottom to the tops of her shins in one move. She waits on big brother and giggles at him all the time. She loves Allie's food (our dog) and has started crawling toward it everytime we put her down. We can't leave her for very long- but who would want too!!! I am in love.

Let the blogging begin...

Kelly has been mentioning for months now that she wanted a blog to show off our beautiful children.

Well, here it is.

Hope you enjoy it. Stop by anytime to peek in to see what we have been up to....
