NYC

I had the opportunity to go to New York with one of my teachers, Angel Stevens, for a dance convention a few weeks ago. We had a wonderful time. We stayed right next to Grand Central Station and also right next to the steam explosion that happened a few days before we got there. Needless to say it did not hamper our trip. It was Angels first time in the city so we walked everywhere and tried to experience everything. See the picture of her first experience with street vendor food. It was excellent!!! I have more pictures but they all seem to be of police cars, fire engines and ambulances for my three year old. Funny what seems important when you have kids.

Mmmmm, Dreamland

Our kids first experience with dreamland was interesting. I think Mommy and Daddy like it better than the kids, but they were good sports about it until Harper found her paci.

So my children are so smart that they think it is ok to drink the water out of any faucet, hole in the ground, or fountain . . . .

My first halter

So, I am taking the lead from my cousin and her daughter, but I couldn't resist. Harper looked so cute in her new red, white and blue halter dress. As you can see Mom was trying to look as cute. . . didn't really work.

On the fourth we took the kids to the Zoo right when it opened for some good Team Avery time! She was so much fun!

I Love America . . . .

OK, so "I Love America" day in Vestavia was a hit. Jackson was all consummed with the moon bounce and slide. After much trepidation he willingly stood in line, climbed up (by himself) and slid down; enjoying every minute of it and the rest of the night. He was so proud as were his parents on his "big boy, I'm going all by myself!!!" attitude. We barely got out at 8:45pm before the movie Cars started. I wonder if he will like fireworks?

Bob and the Wind Tunnel

Ok so I love Bob the Builder as does my daughter. Jack on the other hand was a little scared. Wendy is obviously much more approachable. The hurricane winds in the wind tunnel were fine for both kids as well as daddy. Go figure?

OMG I love Bluebell!!!!

Can I buy stock in Bluebell? Harper had a "death grip" on her first ice cream popsicle that was unreal. She would not let me help her at all. And when the chocolate fell off or melted off she about lost it. I wonder if this will turn into a daily routine?

Beach Babies

WE had so much fun at the beach with The Holder boys!!! It was so nice to be able to see our whole family too. We will have to do it again next year. Maybe Harper will like the sand a little more.

Fathers Day

What can I say but - WE Love our DADDY!!!!!! Thank you Dan for being such a great DAD. I cant imagine living our life without you. You do so much for us and we are so thankful everyday for you!!!! I hope we tell you and if we don't read this. Kisses

Camp Moo Moo

We had so much fun a few weeks ago when we all went to visit Dan's mom in Huntsville. I think Jackson and Harper had the most fun playing with their cousins Jacob, Jeremy and Allison.

The pool was a hit. Thank you to Dan and Dawn for such a great visit.

Temper Tantrum

You may ask, do we as resonably thoughtful parents put his hats on like that - NO. He likes to not only wear his hats backwards but with the openning under his chin so he cannot see anything and for the socks on the hands, who knows . . . maybe I should have not posted this?

Ole

Cousin Eric and his future bride, Christie's shower a few weeks ago at The Ericksons was a hoot. Harper loved dressing up and Jackson loved being the "gift" host. He had to be in the middle of every gift that was opened. I can just hear him "What is that- that is fun- how about this one?" We love our family!!!!

Dolly

We all have fixations- right! Well so does Harper. She loves Dolly- very original I know. Hopefully we will never lose it and she can take it to college with her. I think I had my blanket until I was at least 7. Harper likes to chew on Dolly's hat, I liked to smell my blanket - who knew we were so alike . . .

NBA Playoffs

OK so it is pretty sad when you are posting about basketball, but it is a long dry summer as Team Avery has very little interest in Baseball. So, here goes. When we went to the beach BaBa got Jackson a build bear which he affectionately calls "brown bear". I was good to just get the bear, but no Ba wanted outfits - so what kind of outfit do we get - basketball of course. I really wanted a Phoenix suns jersey in honor of Steve Nash, but since we were in Florida we settled on the Heat- I kind of dig Dwayne Wade so it was alright.

Easter Bunny

The Easter Bunny brought Jackson a CAT bulldozer. He loves it! Harper got a ball that giggles when you shake it. She thinks it is hilarious. Thank you Easter Bunny!

Been a long time . . .

Well- as my friend jill says, it's been a long time. I can't quite get a grip on my life so this is the best I have to offer. Kudos to those who update daily or weekly. I secretly want ot be more like you. Here are a few pics from our beach trip with BaBa- the big wheel was a last minute purchase due to the fact that the pool heater was broken. Jackson did not seem to mind. He of course learned how to put on sunscreen and surf?!?!? Sissy just loved her new sunglasses and pretty much went with the flow- I love her so!
